This site was acquired in early 2017 and is located in Tuffley, a predominantly residential suburb located on the outskirts of Gloucester adjoining the open countryside of the Cotswolds. The site has planning permission for demolition of the modern parts of the former school building, the construction of a 12 new build houses and conversion of the school building into 7 apartments.
The site is located conveniently for a number of schools, including Tuffley Primary School, whose fields adjoin the site, St Peters High School, which is located on the other side of the road from the site and Wynstones School, a Steiner Waldorf school, which is within walking distance. It is also close to the open spaces of Robinswood Hill, leisure facilities such as Gloucester Golf Course and Gloucester’s outdoor dry ski slope and is conveniently located for access to the M5.
The presence of a number of mature trees located on the site means that the site will be very aesthetically attractive once the development is complete. The development delivers attractive modern new build properties which acknowledge and compliment the more traditional style of the existing school building. The properties are differentiated by their high specification relative to other new build developments and incorporate sustainable technology in the form of ground source heating to bring down heating costs and reduce the development’s carbon footprint.
We started work in November 2019, expect to complete construction of our first phase of houses by November 2020 and finish the whole development by June 2021.
